The suspect was taken into custody on Friday, facing attempted murder charges. On Thursday, Starmer, who has a Jewish wife and previously worked as a human rights lawyer, visited the scene of the attack and a Jewish volunteer ambulance service, where he was met with boos from locals who criticized his response to rising antisemitism. He reaffirmed his commitment to free expression and peaceful protests while calling for stricter measures against antisemitic rhetoric.
