Although he was mentored by Peter Mandelson, the former UK ambassador to the US dismissed over ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Streeting refutes claims of a close relationship. As health minister, he sanctioned a 22% salary increase for resident doctors over two years, yet strikes have returned.
