Uffizi unveils new temporary exhibition spaces with Carabinieri art protection show
The Uffizi Galleries in Florence have inaugurated the Aula Magliabechiana as a dedicated space for temporary exhibitions. The inaugural show, 'La Tutela Tricolore', runs until February 14, 2017, and focuses on the activities of the Comando Tutela Patrimonio Culturale dell'Arma dei Carabinieri. The exhibition is organized into eight sections, featuring works from the Uffizi collection and other pieces from Carabinieri museums. Director Eike D. Schmidt stated that the exhibition encourages reflection on the role of public art for the community and the specific strategies developed in Italy since World War II for its protection and recovery. The Aula Magliabechiana is located beneath the Biblioteca Magliabechiana.
