Uffizi to collaborate on new State Police Museum in Rome

institutional · 2026-04-26

The Gallerie degli Uffizi will provide technical, scientific, and cultural consultancy for the creation of a new State Police Museum in Rome. The protocol was signed by Police Chief Vittorio Pisani and Uffizi director Simone Verde. The museum will unify the existing Historical Museum of the State Police and the Police Car Museum, currently housed in separate wings of the same building at Via Bernardino Telesio in the Prati district. The original museum was established by ministerial decree in 1958 and holds collections of uniforms, weapons, memorabilia, and archives. The Uffizi will advise on architectural and museographic choices, curate displays, and help integrate the new museum into the National Museum System. The project aims to enhance the historical and artistic heritage of the police force and promote legal culture.
