Uffizi Live: Evening Performances of Music, Theater, and Dance at the Uffizi
The Uffizi Galleries in Florence, under director Eike Schmidt, have launched Uffizi Live, a summer evening program featuring music, theater, dance, and performance art. Running until September 27, the museum extends its hours to 10 PM on Tuesdays. The initiative, developed with Opera Laboratori Fiorentini, offers free live shows with regular admission. Schmidt stated that each Tuesday evening will feature performances linked to the artworks. On August 23, the program includes a commedia dell'arte recital by Associazione Culturale La Macchina del Tuono, titled "Le dodici fatiche di Arlecchino," performed by Roberto Andrioli and Michele Carli in Sala 34. Also that evening, Agnese Lanza and Julie Havelund present "Inter Pares Project," a contemporary dance research project that debuted in London in 2013, inspired by figures and poses in the museum's collection.
