UBI Banca launches digital platform and Instagram for its art collection

digital · 2026-05-04

UBI Banca, an Italian cooperative banking group founded in 2007, has launched a website and Instagram channel to open its vast art collection to the public. The collection comprises 6,000 works from the 14th to 21st centuries, including pieces by Anish Kapoor and Olafur Eliasson, gathered from banks that merged into the group. The digital initiative aims to make the collection accessible virtually, as many works and the buildings housing them are not normally open. The website features news and a search engine showcasing 300 works, while the Instagram account @arteubibanca targets younger audiences with photos, videos, and educational content. On October 6, 2018, UBI Banca participated in Invito a Palazzo, an annual event promoted by ABI, opening seven historic buildings to over 3,000 visitors nationwide. On October 13-14, it joined FAI's Autumn Days, opening Palazzo Litta Modignani in Milan to about 2,500 visitors. The project is curated by Antonella Crippa, an Artribune writer and curator of the UBI Banca collection.
