exhibition · 2026-04-22

From October 30, 2014, to March 31, 2015, FreedmanArt showcased 'Art in the Making' at 25 East 73rd Street, New York. This exhibition highlighted the creative processes behind Abstract Expressionist masterpieces, featuring works by artists such as Adolph Gottlieb, Philip Guston, Hans Hofmann, and Franz Kline, along with those from subsequent generations. A significant highlight included the juxtaposition of Thomas Hart Benton's 1922 'Woodland Stream, Martha's Vineyard/Chilmark Landscape' with Jackson Pollock's 1946-47 'Untitled (folded greeting card)'. Additionally, Kit White's 23 drawings from his 2011 publication were on display, showcasing influences from Michelangelo Caravaggio, Giorgio Morandi, and Andy Warhol. Simultaneously, 'The Space Between' was presented at the New York Studio School from February 13 to March 22, 2015, focusing on the concept of 'between-ness' in art.
