Two New Galleries Open in Milan Post-Pandemic
Despite the economic downturn caused by the pandemic, two new art galleries have opened in Milan. The Verona-based Boxart, founded by Giorgio Gaburro in 1995 and now run by his daughter Cecilia, has rebranded as Galleria Gaburro and inaugurated a new space in the city center. Meanwhile, Florence-based gallerist Eduardo Secci will open two venues on June 3: Eduardo Secci and NOVO, occupying the former Lisson Gallery premises near Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. Secci's expansion is driven by a need to be closer to his Italian collectors and to signal confidence in the future. NOVO is a separate experimental space for young artists. Eduardo Secci Milano will host a solo show of Kevin Francis Gray curated by Sergio Risaliti, while NOVO presents Theo Triantafyllidis's Radicalization Pipeline, both running until September 25.
