exhibition · 2026-04-26

In early 2025, Paris unveiled two significant textile art exhibitions. The Fondation Cartier hosts the first European retrospective of Colombian artist Olga de Amaral (born 1932), which will be on display until March 16, 2025. This exhibition showcases 80 pieces, including 'Tisser le paysage', 'Gran muro' (1976), and 'Muro en rojos' (1982), along with Bauhaus-inspired works, concluding with 'Estelas', influenced by pre-Columbian sculptures. Meanwhile, at the Grand Palais, 'The Soul Trembles' features the largest solo exhibition in Europe for Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (born 1972), running until March 19, 2025. It includes installations such as 'Where are we going?' (2017) and 'Accumulation-Searching for Destination' (2016). Shiota has studied in Kyoto, Canberra, and Hamburg, and currently resides in Berlin.
