Two Italian Independent Galleries Join Forces for New Milan Space
Simone Frittelli (Frittelli Arte Contemporanea, Florence) and Michela Rizzo (Galleria Michela Rizzo, Venice) will open a shared gallery in Milan from September 2025. The space, located in an ex-industrial complex at Viale Stelvio 66, currently houses artist Marcello Iori's studio and previously hosted Conduits gallery by Gea Politi. The collaboration aims to create a hub for independent galleries, fostering non-competitive alliances. The program will feature alternating projects from Florence and Venice, new commissions, and re-contextualized exhibitions. A preview event on April 5, 2025, during Art Week, will present the catalog "Ri-Materializzazione del Linguaggio 1978-2022" (published by Nero). The gallery emphasizes conviviality, including a communal table for artists and art professionals. Frittelli noted that Milan is "the only city in Italy that makes an art system." The initiative seeks to attract international artists and encourage replication of the model.
