Two Italian art projects revive the postcard as a medium for Mail Art
In Italy, two exciting projects are reviving postcards as a unique art form. From August 1 to August 31, 2020, Treccani Arte will kick off 'Cartoline di Treccani Arte,' a digital Mail Art initiative featuring ten talented artists, including Giorgio Andreotta Calò and Maurizio Nannucci. These artists will craft their messages and send them out digitally to subscribers. At the same time, Fondazione Cariverona unveils 'C-Art-Off-Line,' the first part of the larger 'Arte porta a porta' initiative, curated by Mirko Rizzi. This project showcases five artists from various cities, with postcard deliveries taking place from July to December 2020, starting with Luca Trevisani's artwork. Both initiatives aim to create meaningful connections through the nostalgic appeal of postcards.
