Tvboy's monograph 'La calle es mi museo' published in Spain

Street artist Tvboy, pseudonym of Salvatore Benintende (Palermo, 1980), released his monograph 'La calle es mi museo' in June 2020 with Libros Cúpula in Barcelona. The book, co-written with Joaquin Arías, documents his ephemeral urban interventions across four thematic strands: political kisses between rivals, social activism (Clean Air Now, gender violence, homophobia, immigration, refugees), celebrities, and art historical figures reimagined in contemporary poses (e.g., Botticelli's Venus drinking Starbucks). Tvboy, who studied design at Politecnico di Milano and now lives in Barcelona, uses paste-up technique rather than spray paint. The title criticizes white cube galleries. His work includes a Covid-themed version of Hayez's 'The Kiss' at Pinacoteca di Brera. He plans a museum exhibition in Italy in spring 2021 with an Italian catalog. Tvboy notes that while street art is often censored or vandalized (except his 'WonderVirgin' in Rome), a network of high-level collectors now supports the genre.
