Tvboy mural and Daniele Silvestri video aboard Emergency's new rescue ship Life Support
On December 14, 2022, the Life Support vessel, operated by Emergency, set sail from Genoa to navigate the Central Mediterranean. This 51.3-meter ship can house up to 175 survivors and features a quote from its founder, Gino Strada. A striking mural by Tvboy on the deckhouse symbolizes unity in turbulent waters. The video "Le Navi," created by Daniele Silvestri onboard, addresses the tragedy of migrant disappearances. Rossella Miccio, president of Emergency, reiterated the organization’s dedication to the right to life. Between December 17 and 18, Life Support answered a distress signal, rescuing 70 individuals and providing medical assistance before arriving in Livorno the following morning. Since 2014, over 20,000 lives have been lost or gone missing in this region, including more than 1,300 in 2022.
