Turner Prize Suspended, Ten UK Artists Receive £10,000 Bursaries from Tate Britain

Tate Britain has put the Turner Prize on hold because of COVID-19 and decided to award £10,000 bursaries to ten British artists. Among those honored are Arika for their Episode 10 at Tramway in Glasgow, Liz Johnson Artur for her Black Balloon Archive, and Oreet Ashery for Misbehaving Bodies at the Wellcome Collection. Shawanda Corbett was acknowledged for her performance Blackbird in Mississippi at the Serpentine Gallery, while Jamie Crewe received accolades for exhibitions inspired by Radclyffe Hall’s novel. Other recipients include Sean Edwards for Undo Things Done at the 2019 Venice Biennale, Sidsel Meineche Hansen for Welcome to End-Used City, and Imran Perretta for his film, with the jury featuring Richard Birkett and others.
