The 2017 Turner Prize has shortlisted four artists: Hurvin Anderson, Andrea Büttner, Lubaina Himid, and Rosalind Nashashibi, following the removal of the under-fifty age limit. Tate announced this change in March, enabling both Anderson and Himid to be eligible. Each artist is awarded £5,000, while the winner, to be revealed on 5 December, will receive an additional £25,000. The jury consists of Martin Herbert, Dan Fox, Mason Leaver-Yap, and Emily Pethick. Their works will be displayed at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull starting 26 September. Anderson was acknowledged for exhibitions in Nottingham and Canada; Büttner for her shows in Switzerland and Los Angeles; Himid for her work in Oxford and Bristol; Nashashibi for her exhibition in California and Documenta 14. The Turner Prize was founded in 1984.
