Turner Prize 2015 shortlist features three women artists and architecture collective Assemble

The 2015 Turner Prize shortlist includes three women artists and the architecture and design collective Assemble. German artist Nicole Wermers is nominated for her installation 'Infrastruktur' at London's Herald Street gallery, featuring Marcel Breuer chairs with fur coats sewn into them. Bonnie Camplin, an artist and Goldsmiths lecturer, is shortlisted for 'The Military Industrial Complex' at South London Gallery, examining consensus reality and mental health. Canadian artist Janice Kerbel is recognized for an operatic performance about a character named Doug experiencing nine catastrophic events, staged in Glasgow. Assemble is nominated for 'The Granby Four Streets' project in Liverpool, involving the restoration of terraced houses using low-cost materials and demolition waste. Each nominee receives at least £5,000. An exhibition of works by the shortlisted artists will run from October 1, 2015, to January 17, 2016, at Tramway in Glasgow, where the shortlist was announced. The winner will be revealed on December 7, 2015.
