Turin's White Night: Shuttle Between Castello di Rivoli and GAM, Matisse Night Visit

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, a three-day event (February 26–28) features concerts, exhibitions, and the highlight: a White Night on Saturday with a free acoustic shuttle connecting Castello di Rivoli and GAM for the first time. The shuttle, sonorized by Xplosiva, will play experimental sounds from 1959 (GAM's opening) to 1984 (Castello di Rivoli's opening). At GAM, the exhibition 'Piero Gilardi May days in Turin' opens at 17:00, and Franco Audrito, founder of Studio65, gives a talk on 'Il Mercante di Nuvole. Studio65 Cinquant’anni di futuro' on its penultimate day. Visitors taking the 18:00 shuttle from GAM to Castello di Rivoli will be greeted by the Education Department's Artenauti and guided to the second floor of the Manica Lunga to view Mark Leckey's 'Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore' (1999), exploring youth counterculture from the 1970s–80s. The major exhibition 'Matisse e il suo tempo' at Palazzo Chiablese (until May 15) features 50 works by Matisse and 47 by contemporaries (Picasso, Renoir, Bonnard, Modigliani, Miró, Derain, Braque, Marquet, Léger) from the Centre Pompidou, and will offer a special night visit from 21:00 to 23:30.
