Turin's Consolata Mission to Open New Cultural and Museum Hub
On January 29, coinciding with the anniversary of its establishment by Blessed Giuseppe Allamano, the Consolata Missions in Turin revealed plans to convert their main location at Corso Ferrucci 14 into a cultural center spanning 2,000 square meters. This €2 million initiative, expected to be finished by January 2023, will feature an auditorium, exhibition space, laboratories, and a library, connecting with Turin's museum network. It aims to display previously hidden collections, including 150,000 photographs, 1,000 vintage films, and 10,000 artifacts. The project is being designed by architects Massimo Venegoni and Margherita Bert, overseen by three missionaries. A similar facility will be created in Nairobi. Mayor Stefano Lo Russo emphasized the venue's potential to tackle global issues. The Consolata Missionaries have been active worldwide since 1902.
