Turin Named Italy's Business Culture Capital for 2024

award · 2026-04-27

Turin has been designated Capitale della cultura d'impresa 2024, an award given by Confindustria for five years following the model of the Ministry of Culture's Capital of Culture program. The recognition aims to highlight local economies and manufacturing vocations. Previous winners include Genoa (2019), Alba (2020/21), the Padua-Treviso-Venice-Rovigo area (2022), and Pavia (2023). Festivities begin on February 19 with the projection of the logo on the Mole Antonelliana. The winning bid, titled "Torino, spazio al futuro," was led by Unione Industriali Torino and its president Giorgio Marsiaj, emphasizing the city's industrial, technological, and creative heritage. The year-long program includes events at the Salone Internazionale del Libro (May 9–13), Graphic Days (May 16–26), the Festival Internazionale dell'Economia (June 1), and an Ogr event on March 22 featuring Stratosferica's Future Urban Trends. A flagship exhibition, "Torino spazio al futuro 1884-2034 – 150 anni di cultura d'impresa," will run from April 12 to September 30 at the Museo del Risorgimento, free admission, with seven multimedia sections covering industrialization history and future prospects. A concert by CFM Jazz Ensemble on April 24 will accompany the show. Other cities involved include Ivrea, Biella, Alba, Cuneo, Genoa, Milan, and Naples. A workshop on cultural entrepreneurship will be held with Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
