Turin allocates €243,811 in cultural grants for 2017-2018
The City of Turin has announced the allocation of cultural grants for 2017, totaling €243,811.42, up from an initial €175,000. The funds support 23 projects across three areas: performing arts (€131,658), contemporary art and design (€82,895), and cultural heritage (€29,257). Notable recipients include Kaninchen Haus's Viadellafucina16 artist residency, Ghita Skali's exhibition at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Nesxt independent art festival by Artesera, Architettura in città by Fondazione per l'Architettura, Seeyousound film festival, Flat art book fair, Esercizi di arbitrio by G.B. Studio, and Torino short film market by Aiace. Each project receives up to 50% of its total budget. The initiative aims to foster innovation and attract new audiences, according to Councillor for Culture Francesca Paola Leon. The grants cover activities from January 1, 2017, to February 28, 2018.
