Turi Rapisarda's 'Corpi speciali' at RizzutoGallery, Palermo
The RizzutoGallery in Palermo is hosting 'Corpi speciali', a solo exhibition of photographer Turi Rapisarda curated by Francesca Alfano Miglietti, running until December 21, 2013. Rapisarda, an outsider artist in his sixties, creates black-and-white photographs that confront viewers with marginalized individuals—the elderly, the mentally ill, children, and those in transit—capturing raw human experience without compromise. The exhibition includes works such as 'Bellissima' (2003), a 47x70 inch digital print, and 'Auto da Fé' (1996), a series of 16 photos. In a video interview, Miglietti discusses art's power to reveal the invisible and connect the visible with the spiritual, stating that art makes us see what we otherwise ignore. Rapisarda describes photography as salvation and a trace of a supreme being. The gallery is located at Via Monte Cuccio 30, Palermo.
