Tube Culture Hall Launches 'Booth' Pop-Up Program for Emerging Artists
Tube Culture Hall, a cultural space directed by Federica Ferrari located in the foundations of Piazza XXV Aprile in Milan along the ancient Spanish walls, has launched a nomadic project called 'Booth.' The initiative brings contemporary art to various Italian and international cities through pop-up exhibitions featuring young artists selected by the gallery. Ferrari describes Booth as a versatile and dynamic format akin to an art fair stand, allowing the gallery to enter existing contexts—both art venues and non-traditional spaces—to create new situations. The first exhibition, 'Recollection of Dreams,' debuted in December 2024 in Milan's Isola district at via Lambertenghi 6, featuring Brazilian artist Caroline Ricca Lee (born 1990 in São Paulo). The show runs until January 24, 2025. Ricca Lee's work intertwines archiving and memory with a decolonial and feminist perspective, using sculpture, installation, video, critical writing, and performance to explore the invisible and unofficial—personal memories, ancestral heirlooms, and family photographs. She reimagines the home as an alternative museum challenging institutional appropriation of domestic objects and marginalized artistic practices. Her aesthetic, syncretic and chaotic, stems from a multicultural identity blending Asian roots, Brazilian culture, and European colonial heritage.
