Trump orders warning signs outside Smithsonian museum over political bias

President Donald Trump has escalated his criticism of the Smithsonian Institution by instructing that notices be placed outside the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. An executive order from July 24 mandates the installation of signs on sidewalks managed by the National Park Service to announce that updates are necessary due to a report from the Domestic Policy Council issued on July 4. The 162-page report claims the museum exhibits reflect Marxist ideologies and questions their credibility, despite the institution receiving more than $1 billion in federal support. Concurrently, NMAH director Anthea Hartig defended the museum against these allegations.
