Truly Design Crew's Anamorphic Mural for IQOS at Fuorisalone

The Turin-based collective Truly Design Crew, active since the mid-1990s, created an anamorphic mural titled 'WE' for IQOS at Opificio 31 during Fuorisalone 2022. The work uses Airlite's anti-smog paint and a system of panels built with Merlo Factory to achieve perspective distortion. Members Rems 182 (Emanuele Ronco) and Ninja 1 (Rocco Emiliano Fava) discussed their process, citing influences from Renaissance masters like Leonardo da Vinci and Hans Holbein the Younger's 'The Ambassadors', as well as contemporary anamorphic artists Georges Rousse and Felice Varini. The collective transitioned from graffiti and street art to professional work around 2007, inspired by MTV's motion graphics and the Turin Winter Olympics. They have also created anamorphic basketball courts and a mural for Clementino's album launch in Naples.
