Tris Vonna-Michell's 'Register' at T293 Rome

Tris Vonna-Michell (Essex, 1982) presents 'Register' at T293 gallery in Rome until December 3, 2016. The exhibition explores space-time relationships through multiple projections. A double projection montage at the entrance encapsulates many of his works in a hyper-realist key. The videos recover everyday gestures in filmed dimensions, forming a transient chain of movements and sounds. Some works investigate the artist's personal history, with references to Berlin. Three different projections converge, including one shot in Japan, edited to create an illusory spatial-temporal shift. Aquatic elements in some scenes act as filters that capture and refract projected images, re-animating them. The show aims not to represent the artist's work but to exhibit a multiple, multidisciplinary creative process manifesting reflections of an entire visual journey.
