Triplef: Design Concept Store Opens in Mario Schifano's Former Rome Studio

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

Triplef, a new design concept store and e-commerce platform, has launched in Rome's historic via delle Mantellate 15/A, a former studio once used by artists Cy Twombly, Gino De Dominicis, Maurizio Mochetti, and Mario Schifano. Founded by Federica Formilli Fendi, heir of the Fendi fashion house and co-creator of Fendissime, alongside Carlo Alberto D'Emilio, Fendi's global visual merchandiser and make-up artist, the venture focuses on circular economy through the resale and rental of vintage design, fashion, and art objects. The name Triplef derives from Formilli Fendi's three F initials. The physical space, Casa Triplef, is a loft renovated by architect and gallerist Stefania Miscetti, featuring iron and cement materials and abundant natural light. The studio's internal courtyard still hosts an avocado tree planted by Schifano and his collaborator Renzo. Triplef operates on a consignment model, acquiring items from private sellers and reselling them online and in-store, with options for rental for photo shoots or events. The founders emphasize a slow, intimate atmosphere, aiming to create a hub for art, craftsmanship, and community, where visitors can browse, have an aperitivo, listen to music, or consult the Vogue archive.
