TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2017: Italy's Top 10 Museums Revealed

TripAdvisor has released its Travellers' Choice 2017 ranking of the most beloved museums in Italy, based on user reviews. The Museo Egizio in Turin tops the list, securing Italy the ninth spot in the European museum ranking. The Galleria degli Uffizi and Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence take second and third places, respectively. Rome dominates the middle positions with Galleria Borghese (4th), Musei Vaticani (5th), and Museo di Castel Sant'Angelo (6th). Turin returns with the Museo del Cinema (7th), followed by Venice's Peggy Guggenheim Collection (8th). The MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile in Turin ranks ninth, and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli rounds out the top ten. Turin and Rome each have three museums in the list, while Florence has two. The ranking highlights a preference for ancient and modern art museums, with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection being the sole contemporary art entry. The list was published in September 2017.
