Triennale Milano Unveils Second Digital Game Collection
The Triennale Milano has announced the second edition of its Triennale Game Collection, a digital exhibition of commissioned video games, launching July 12, 2022. Curated by Pietro Righi Riva of Santa Ragione, the collection aligns with the theme of the 23rd International Exhibition, 'Unknown Unknowns. An Introduction to Mysteries,' curated by astrophysicist Ersilia Vaudo. The games are short interactive experiences playable on smartphones, released sequentially through a dedicated app. Titles include WADE by Optillusion (July 12), a puzzle game exploring grief; We Are Poems by Fern Goldfarb-Ramallo (July 29), a celestial toy generating sounds and colors; Nonno's Legend by Nina Freeman (August 26), allowing players to reshape Earth's continents; MINE by Akwasi Bediako Afrane (September 16), addressing mineral extraction for digital devices; and Contact by Llaura McGee (September 30), an interactive story about encountering alien life. The collection is free on Android, iOS, and Steam. The first Triennale Game Collection, released in 2016 for the 21st Triennale, received an update on June 29, 2022, adding games by Mario von Rickenbach, Christian Etter, Tale of Tales, Cardboard Computer, Pol Clarissou, and Everest Pipkin.
