other · 2026-05-05

Claudio De Albertis, president of Triennale Milano for five years, has died after a long illness. The 66-year-old, born in Genoa and an engineering graduate of Politecnico di Milano, was remembered by culture minister Dario Franceschini as a reference figure in Italian business and associations. Under De Albertis, Triennale strengthened its national and international presence. His greatest achievement was the return of the Triennale International Exhibition, held from April to September 2016 under the title "21st Century. Design After Design." He also opened the institution to private collaboration, founding the Amici della Triennale association, and oversaw the renovation of the Triennale Terrace with a panoramic restaurant. Earlier in his career, De Albertis served as president of Assimpredil (1990-1996), vice president and later president of Ance (2000-2006), and president of In-Arch Lombardia.
