Triennale Milano Opens 'Gioco' Children's Space at Piano Parco
Triennale Milano has inaugurated 'Gioco', a new creative space for children and families at the Piano Parco level of Palazzo dell'Arte. The 300-square-meter indoor area (plus 700 outdoors) is designed by studio AR.CH.IT Luca Cipelletti, with modular cork and fir furniture by French studio smarin, assembled without nails or screws for reconfigurability. Gioco offers free access from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:30–20:00, with drawing, design materials, a library of children's books in Italian and English (including CAA, silent books, and LIS), and all Triennale's Album Junior publications. The space hosts educational workshops linked to exhibitions, such as those for the International Exhibition Inequalities until November 9, and a public program for families including the Officina Famiglie Let's Talk! series on emotional, nutritional, and gender identity education. New family services include stroller parking, lockers, a water dispenser, and a changing table, plus a kids' menu at Cucina Triennale. Gioco is part of Triennale's centennial requalification plan, following the opening of 'Voce' sound space in summer 2024, and implements the Manifesto for Families presented in February 2025. President Stefano Boeri and director general Carla Morogallo lead the institution, which is expanding into former Old Fashion nightclub spaces.
