Triennale Milano Hosts First Major Gae Aulenti Retrospective

Triennale Milano presents the first major retrospective on Gae Aulenti (1927–2012), curated by Giovanni Agosti. The exhibition reconstructs 13 of her most significant environments, spanning architecture, design, theater scenography, museum installations, and commercial spaces. Highlights include her 1964 Triennale project 'L'arrivo al mare,' the Olivetti showroom in Buenos Aires (1968), the Fiat dealership in Zurich (1973), the installation for Christo's show at Rotonda della Besana (1973), the Musée d'Orsay transformation (1986), the Elektra set design for La Scala (1994), and public works like the Naples Metro station and Perugia Airport. Aulenti, a graduate of Politecnico di Milano, collaborated with Casabella Continuità under Ernesto Nathan Rogers and worked extensively with Olivetti, Luca Ronconi, and Michel Laclotte. The exhibition uses models, drawings, and period objects to immerse visitors in her multidisciplinary career.
