Triennale Milano Hosts '10 architetture italiane' Showcasing Emerging Architects Under 35

The exhibition '10 architetture italiane' at Triennale Milano marked the conclusion of a research initiative on contemporary Italian architecture, which began in autumn 2020, led by Matteo Ghidoni, Enrico Molteni, and Vittorio Pizzigoni. This project comprised a study phase and two seminar cycles, with results published in Area issue 185. The curators, professors from the University of Genoa's Department of Architecture and Design, concentrated on architects under 35 with completed or ongoing projects. They identified eighteen studios, including FONDAMENTA and AMAA. The exhibition showcased ten studios, each presenting a 1:5 scale model of their work, accompanied by two photographs and a catalog. Ghidoni noted shared characteristics among the studios, such as optimism and a preference for print media over social networks. He also pointed out the challenges faced by Italian institutions in fostering architectural work and urged Triennale Milano to continue promoting Italian architecture.
