Trevor Paglen to Curate Art Basel's Zero 10 in Basel 2026

Art Basel is expanding its digital art program Zero 10 to its Swiss edition in 2026, with artist Trevor Paglen and digital strategist Eli Scheinman as co-curators. The initiative, previously held in Miami Beach (2025) and Hong Kong (2026), will occupy the Event Hall at Messeplatz alongside Art Basel Conversations, featuring 10 international exhibitors. Zero 10 will be free to the public from June 17 to 21, 2026, with a preview on June 16. The theme is 'The Condition,' exploring contemporary existence through computational images, algorithmic systems, and AI. Artists include Hito Steyerl (Green Screen), Avery Singer (Shit Coin Maxi), Andreas Gursky (Ocean V), Aziza Kadyri (A Borrowed Hand), Vera Molnar, Ryoji Ikeda, Agnieszka Kurant, John Gerrard, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Leander Herzog, and Andreas Gysin. Galleries and platforms involved include Esther Schipper, Andrew Kreps Gallery, Oniris.art, Interface Gallery, eastcontemporary, bitforms, Art Blocks, Fellowship, Upstream Gallery, and HEK – Haus der Elektronischen Künste Basel. Paglen's new book 'How to See Like a Machine: Images After AI' will be published by Verso Books in May 2026. He recently received the LG Guggenheim Award 2026.
