Treviso Comic Book Festival opens collective exhibition on Marco Polo

The Treviso Comic Book Festival presents 'Marco Polo: un viaggio disegnato', the first collective comics exhibition entirely inspired by the travels of the Venetian explorer. The show runs from September 28 to October 13, 2024, at Fondazione Benetton's Palazzo Bomben in Treviso. It features original works by prominent Italian comic artists including Lele Vianello, Guido Fuga, Giorgio Cavazzano, Marco Tabilio, Lucio Schiavon, Elia Mazzantini, Federico Ferniani, and Matteo Alemanno. Highlights include Cavazzano's sketches from his recent Disney adaptation of 'Il Milione' for Topolino, created with Marco Nucci, and Vianello and Fuga's original plates from their illustrated book 'Marco Polo'. The festival itself takes place September 27-29, 2024, marking its 21st edition, with exhibitions, workshops, talks, and a market fair across the city. Organizers president Stefano Cendron and directors Sara Chissalè, Nicola Ferrarese, and Alberto Polita aim to confirm the festival as Italy's leading cultural promotion event for comics while increasing international reach and supporting local excellence, following Treviso's candidacy as Italian Capital of Culture.
