Treviso Comic Book Festival 2018: 15th Edition Honors Founder, Expands Venue

The 15th edition of the Treviso Comic Book Festival (TCBF) takes place in Treviso, Italy, from an unspecified date in 2018. The festival was founded 15 years ago by Massimo Bragaggia, who passed away in early 2018. The organization has since elected Stefano Cendron as the new president. This year's edition features a new main venue: a Renaissance palace granted by Fondazione Cassamarca, located on Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, which will host a three-floor marketplace. The festival is spread across 15 locations, including museums, galleries, and public spaces, with over 250 artists and illustrators participating. Highlights include a solo exhibition of London-based illustrator Laura Callaghan, who created the festival's poster; a show titled "30 anni di cartoni e fumetti in tv"; an exhibition on Franco Matticchio curated by Giovanna Durì; a dialogue between Riccardo Guasco's contemporary illustrations and vintage advertising posters at the Museo Nazionale Collezione Salce; and a presentation by British artist Dilraj Mann, known for his work on Dalston. The festival also plans to launch the Biblioteca Massimo Bragaggia, donating books to schools annually. TCBF distinguishes itself as a cultural festival rather than a trade fair, aiming to attract a diverse audience and integrate comics with other art forms.
