Treti Galaxie: curatorial trio's elemental series

Treti Galaxie, a curatorial collective founded by Matteo Mottin, Ramona Ponzini, and Sandro Mori, has organized a series of exhibitions themed around the classical elements. The group's approach to curation focuses on the space and time between artwork and viewer. Their past shows include a solo exhibition by Valerio Nicolai for an audience of birds (air), a two-person show by Michele Gabriele and Alessandro Di Pietro featuring a river of poisoned water (water), a solo exhibition by Alvaro Urbano atop the Mole Antonelliana inspired by Jules Verne (earth), and a solo show by Guglielmo Castelli at Torino Porta Nuova station's Sala Reale, an octagonal room with frescoes of earth, air, and fire (water). Their upcoming project in November will relate to fire. The collective's background includes Ponzini's studies in Tokyo and work with PSF Records, Mori's role as a private banker and former manager of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, and Mottin's shift from engineering to art curation, including a secret exhibition in a Sardinian cave and a tribute to Carlo Mollino.
