Trentino's I Suoni delle Dolomiti festival combines trekking and concerts

The 28th edition of I Suoni delle Dolomiti, a high-altitude music festival in Trentino directed by Mario Brunello, is underway. The festival integrates hiking as a core part of the experience. After Jack Savoretti's concert on September 16 at Malga Andalo, attended by 3,000 people after a 1.5-hour trek, a special project called Il Trekking dei Suoni will take place from September 22 to 24 in Val di Fassa with musicians Paolo Fresu, Daniele Di Bonaventura, and Pierpaolo Vacca. The festival ends on October 1 with Carmen Consoli at Madonna di Campiglio. Concurrently, the MUSE science museum in Trento celebrates its tenth anniversary with exhibitions including Anima Mundi (until September 24) and the We Are The Flood platform by Stefano Cagol. Castel Belasi, a 13th-century fortress now directed by Stefano Cagol, hosts contemporary art shows Come Pioggia and Generazione Antropocene until October 29. The Giardino dei Ciucioi in Lavis, a 19th-century fake architecture garden created by Tommaso Bortolotti, recently opened a new section for guided visits.
