Trenord has revived its 'Gite in treno' program for spring-summer 2024, offering sustainable tourism packages to destinations across Lombardy, including Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Lake Garda, Lake Iseo, and art cities like Mantua and Brescia. The initiative, launched in 2016, aims to promote eco-friendly travel via the region's 460 railway stations. Packages include train+battello tickets to lakes from €9.40, amusement park visits (e.g., Caneva Aquapark at Peschiera del Garda from €37), culinary tours, and trekking along the Via Francisca and Via Francigena (flat rate €14). Leonardo Cesarini, Trenord's commercial director, stated that 2.8 million passengers traveled on weekends and holidays in 2024, with over 21,000 purchasing integrated train+experience tickets.
