Tree Time Exhibition and Tree Day at Turin's Mountain Museum
Over the weekend of November 23-24, 2019, Legambiente's Festa dell'Albero took place, featuring more than 500 initiatives throughout Italy. This event saw the planting of over 3,500 trees with the participation of 3,000 classes and 60,000 students, under the theme "Un albero per il clima – #ChangeClimateChange." In Milan, a significant influx of over 20,000 new trees is expected from November to March, with over 1,000 planted in just five days at Parco Nord, as part of a broader initiative to plant three million trees in the city and its surroundings by 2030. Meanwhile, on November 23, the Museo Nazionale della Montagna in Turin hosted Tree Day, featuring a guided walk in the Monte dei Cappuccini woods to identify tree species, alongside the "Tree Time" exhibition, running until February 23, 2020, showcasing works by over twenty international artists. This exhibition, curated by Daniela Berta and Andrea Lerda, is part of a sustainability initiative launched the previous year in response to environmental crises like Storm Vaia and wildfires in the Amazon, Indonesia, and Siberia, complemented by a public program involving experts from both science and art.
