Treccani Arte Launches 'Utopia' Artist Poster Collection
Treccani Arte, the contemporary art division of the Istituto dell'Enciclopedia Italiana founded by Giovanni Treccani, has launched 'Utopia,' a project that commissions artists to illustrate lemmas from the Vocabolario Treccani. The project debuted with eight artists: Elisabetta Benassi (farfalla), Ettore Favini (ascolto), Claire Fontaine (cielo), Piero Golia (arrivederci), Emilio Isgrò (utopia), Marcello Maloberti (Àmen), Rä di Martino (filtro), and Alessandro Piangiamore (assenza). Each poster is produced in an edition of 100, featuring the artist's image on the front and the chosen lemma, edition number, and artist's signature on the back. The project aims to create a growing archive reflecting on the Italian language and contemporary art production. The posters are available through Treccani's Emporium.
