Tranceparenti: Floating Concert Precedes Terraforma Festival in Milan

The Tranceparenti project, curated by Ruggero Pietromarchi and born from a collaboration between the Terraforma Festival and Teatro Franco Parenti, staged a floating concert in Milan at the Centro Balneare Caimi, which reopened after renovation by Fondazione Pier Lombardo. Composer Francesco Fantini reinterpreted electronic musician Lorenzo Senni's trance music research for a 40-piece orchestra, performed on a water mirror. Fantini's arrangement explored Senni's suspended compositions, characterized by systematic repetition of buildup arpeggios, emphasizing their epic quality through an orchestral lens. The concert served as an anticipation of the Terraforma Festival, described as an immersive experience blending sound experimentation and environmental sustainability, creating a temporary community within the park of Villa Arconati. The festival's third edition runs July 1-3, featuring workshops, talks, and listening sessions with over twenty artists including Charlemagne Palestine, Adrian Sherwood, Donato Dozzy, Lee Gamble, and Francesco Cavaliere, spanning ambient, jazz, techno, and electronic genres.
