Trame Mediterannee: Ludovico Corrao's Collection on View in Tunis
The exhibition titled 'Trame Mediterannee. La collezione Ludovico Corrao e Dar Bach Hamba' is currently on display at the Presbiterio di Santa Croce in Tunis, running until March 6, 2020. This showcase highlights the collection of Ludovico Corrao, who, following the Belice Valley earthquake, turned Gibellina into an open-air museum featuring artists such as Burri and Beuys. Corrao established the Fondazione Orestiadi and Museo delle Trame Mediterranee. His collection, which draws inspiration from his trips to Tunis in the 1970s, includes costumes, jewelry, and creations by Tunisian craftsmen. Curator Enzo Fiammetta mentions that the initiative began with Monsignor Fouad Twal, culminating in 'La Casa Sicilia' in 2002. Francesca Corrao expresses hope for the collection's return to Dar Bach Hamba to foster Mediterranean dialogue.
