Trame di Luce: Light Installations Illuminate Historic Gardens in Rome and Monza

The immersive exhibition Trame di Luce runs until January 7 at the Orto Botanico in Rome (with the Accademia dei Lincei) and the Giardini di Villa Reale in Monza. Curated by Mauro and Silvia Dorigo of Be.it Events, the event transforms historic parks with enchanted forests, luminous tunnels, colorful galaxies, magical caves, and creatures. It features works from LAC – Light Art Collection, the Dutch group with the world's largest Light Art collection. Seven pieces from LAC are on display: in Rome, Talking Heads by Hungarian artist Viktor Vicsek and Rizhome by Tom and Lien Dekyvere; in Monza, Fluxit by Paul Vendel and Sandra de Wolf. Additionally, Simone Puzzolo of SP Progetti Speciali created eleven new installations, including the Grotta delle Lanterne opening the Monza path, Nebulosa, and Underwaterworld. In Rome, the path begins with Earth, a reproduction of the planet, and features Kappa, Japanese mythological creatures in the Giardino Giapponese. The Dorigos stated the exhibition aims to make these little-known urban oases more accessible during winter, offering wonder and memorable experiences for families, friends, and couples.
