Trail Practice Fits Ypseli Restaurant-Deli in Paris with Red Floor and Steel Grid

Trail Practice has just finished Ypseli, a unique restaurant and deli located in Paris's 2nd arrondissement. It’s on the ground floor of a beautiful 19th-century Beaux-Arts building near Rue Montorgueil. The design keeps the original structure intact, showcasing exposed concrete blocks. The deli features a striking steel shelving grid as its main organizing feature. A vibrant red surface helps define different areas and guides customers around, with sculptural elements that assist in service and direct people to the central bar. A long mirror above the bar boosts visibility between the deli and restaurant. The space is brightened by large openings, and the materials reflect Mediterranean influences. The design team includes Manos Babounis and others, while the project spans 530 sqm.
