Trahan Architects Completes Brick Chapel at Loyola University New Orleans
Loyola University New Orleans has unveiled the Chapel of St. Ignatius and the Gayle and Tom Benson Jesuit Center, designed by Trahan Architects. Located within the university's historic quad, the cylindrical structure covers 4,625 square feet and incorporates textured brick that complements the campus's Tudor-Gothic style while introducing a modern element. The chapel aims to serve as a space for spiritual reflection and community events. Contributions from Marchita Mauck for liturgical aspects, Tillotson Design Associates for lighting, and Threshold Acoustics for sound were integral. The design was spearheaded by Trey Trahan FAIA and his team, with photography by Timothy Hursley.
