Traffic Gallery in Bergamo Celebrates 18 Years with 'Silenzio Sognato' Exhibition
Traffic Gallery, founded in 2007 by architect Roberto Ratti in Bergamo, marks its 18th anniversary with the group show 'Silenzio Sognato,' curated by the collective SONRO and running until November 29. The exhibition explores silence as a poetic and critical element, featuring works by Axel Crettenand, Daniele Di Girolamo, and Lorenzo Lunghi. Di Girolamo presents organic sculptures evoking the sea's breath, Lunghi investigates the physical limits of silence between cacophony and void, and Crettenand's video 'Il faut imaginer Sisyphe heureux' reflects on human effort and dignity. Ratti, with a background in urban sociology and architecture from Politecnico di Milano, emphasizes a focus on 'how' rather than 'what' in artistic practice, aiming to create an inclusive space for emerging trends. He notes the changing perception of street art since 2007, having been an early supporter of urban artists when the genre was marginalized. Looking ahead, Ratti plans to strengthen ties with current artists including Lorenza Boisi, Maria Giovanna Zanella, Filippo Riniolo, and photographer Musafa Sabbagh, while continuing to seek projects that transport audiences into dreamlike realms.
