TPAC Seeks Lead Event Technical Director for Venue Operations

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is hiring a Lead Event Technical Director to oversee technical operations across its venues. The role reports to the Director of Production and pays $36/hour. Responsibilities include managing three Event Technical Directors, supervising crew scheduling with a focus on sustainable work hours (capped at 20 overtime hours monthly), and serving as technical liaison for events. The Lead TD must have expertise in theatrical carpentry, rigging, and stage operations, with 3–5 years of supervisory experience and union crew management. The position also requires proficiency in audio and electrical systems for 10–15% of annual work. Preferred qualifications include experience in Broadway touring houses and ETCP rigging certifications.
