Toy Story 5 Hits Digital Streaming After $1 Billion Box Office

Toy Story 5, the latest installment in Disney and Pixar's animated franchise, will be available for digital purchase on Tuesday, Aug. 18, following its theatrical run that grossed over $1 billion worldwide. Directed by Andrew Stanton, the film opened in theaters on June 19 and has earned $473.1 million domestically and $624.2 million internationally, totaling $1.097 billion. The story follows Buzz Lightyear, voiced by Tim Allen, and Jessie, voiced by Joan Cusack, as they contend with a new tech tablet named Lilypad (Greta Lee) that captivates their owner Bonnie (Scarlett Spears). Jessie embarks on a journey to reconnect with her past, while Buzz encounters a group of factory-fresh Lightyear toys. The voice cast includes Tom Hanks as Woody, along with Craig Robinson, Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Schaal, Tony Hale, Wallace Shawn, Keanu Reeves, and Bad Bunny, among others. The digital release will include bonus features such as production featurettes, deleted scenes, and commentary by co-director Kenna Harris, production designer Bob Pauley, and VFX supervisor Thomas Jordan. Exclusive to the digital release are Taylor Swift's music and lyric videos for the end title song "I Knew It, I Knew You." The film will also be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on Sept. 22.
