Towner Eastbourne to Present 2023 Turner Prize Exhibition in Centenary Year

Towner Eastbourne will host the 2023 Turner Prize exhibition, marking the gallery's centenary year. The exhibition will run from September 2023 through January 2024, with the winner announced on December 5, 2023. This follows the 2022 Turner Prize at Tate Liverpool and continues the model alternating between Tate Britain and institutions outside London. The 2022 shortlist includes Heather Phillipson, Ingrid Pollard, Veronica Ryan, and Sin Wai Kin. Director Joe Hill stated the event will showcase contemporary art in new galleries and boost East Sussex's visitor economy. The winner receives £25,000, with £10,000 each for shortlisted artists. Events across the county will coincide with the exhibition.
