Touring Club Italiano Launches MAPPE Magazine with Third Issue 'Spaghetti'
The Touring Club Italiano has launched MAPPE, a new editorial project that debuted on October 22, 2024, with its third issue titled 'Spaghetti' now available. The magazine, described as 'a book with the pace of a magazine and a magazine with the elegance of a book,' invites readers to explore history, culture, food, and traditions through the concept of getting lost. Each issue revolves around a theme—'Confini' and 'Piccole Isole' preceded 'Spaghetti'—linking geography and imagination. The editorial team includes Chiara Schiavano, Tino Mantarro, Stefano Brambilla, and Barbara Gallucci, with graphic design by Massimo Lafronza and Elisa Richelmi of XxY Studio. The magazine was conceived in a meeting room at the Touring Club's headquarters in Milan on Via Tacito 8. The third issue deconstructs the spaghetti stereotype, presenting it as a shared knowledge between Italian and Chinese cultures, made from sago and manioc. Each contribution covers topics from cinema to photography. The cover price is €19.50.
